Amine Kassouf holds a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from AgroParisTech, France, and the Lebanese University, Lebanon, completed through a joint cotutelle doctoral program (2012–2015). He currently serves as Scientific Director of the Global Food Regulatory Science Society (GFoRSS) and Adjunct Professor in the Department of Food Science at Université Laval, Québec, Canada.

His work lies at the interface of food analytical sciences, food safety, and regulatory science, with a particular focus on the continuum from laboratory-based science and data generation to risk assessment and the translation of scientific evidence into risk management and regulatory decision-making. Building on his background in analytical chemistry, his activities encompass food analysis and method development, data generation and interpretation, food safety and quality, food fraud and the application of these disciplines to support evidence-based food regulatory systems.

He leads and contributes to international and regional initiatives supporting Codex Alimentarius activities, regulatory convergence, scientific cooperation, and capacity building, working closely with regulatory authorities, international and regional organizations, academia, and scientific experts across different regions.
