Mission
The Platform aims to act as an international multi-stakeholder collaborative mechanism that contributes to generate, collect and use the relevant food regulatory science information to support the formulation of food regulatory policy proposals, underpinned by a risk analysis approach
Objectives
The intent is to act as a catalyst for availability and access to ready-to-use food risk analysis information and regulatory policy analysis, which is needed by the food community in addressing regulatory challenges(e.g. updated risk assessments in support of possible regulatory interventions, formulation and analysis of various risk management approaches and their projected impacts, etc.).
The Platform is attempting to play a leading role in promoting food regulatory science in alignment with the overall objective to enable convergent and science-driven food safety and nutrition standards worldwide, as advocated by the World Health Organization (WHO), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and their joint body responsible for international food standard setting: the Codex Alimentarius Commission.
