Food fraud detection: how to differentiate food fraud from cross-contamination

Overview

This project aims at supporting the agri-food industry, private and public laboratories ad regulators in food fraud detection and management by (1) identifying evidence-based quantitative thresholds to better interpret analysis results and distinguish between fraud, cross contamination or unavoidable adventitious presence of a contaminant; and (2) developing reference materials hence move forward a global harmonization of food fraud detection methods.

The project was financed through a CRIBIQ/Alliance grant with two industrial partners (r-Biopharm Canada Inc. and Eurofins-EnvironeX)
