Graduated in Tropical Agriculture some 18 years ago (BSc, Paramaribo, 2002) and in Food Quality Management (MSc, Wageningen, 2005), linked with practical hands-on experience in Suriname with crop and horticulture and over 10 years executing large numbers of wider-ranging technical assistance projects within the Caribbean region in the agri-food sector. Jenna Wijngaarde is recognized as a reliable consultant known to clients ranging from international banks, multinational development agencies and private sector actors for timely delivery of high quality outputs. Her involvement comprises horticulture and crop production, fish production, value chain development, food safety, capacity building, trade development and promotion, as well as participatory development approaches. Most of her consultancy activities focus on business-related value chain aspects based on her in-depth experience and detailed background knowledge of the quality assurance and safety of foods of both animal origin and non-animal origin and of the Food Quality/ Safety Management Systems such as ISO 9001 GLOBALG.A.P., GMP, GHP, HACCP, FSSC 22000/ ISO 22000. Apart from her professional advisory work she is much appreciated as an accomplished trainer.
