Fish Mislabelling - Food fraud case reported in Canada

Are you sure you are paying for the good fish?

Some fish are more expensive than others and it is tempting to change the species of the fish to make more money. A research team in British Columbia reported that 1/4 of fish in Vancouver markets or restaurants (the ones they bought the fish to) are not correctly labelled. Yes, there is a chance it was intentional but it could also be due to poor supply chain management. The article form the Star can be read here and the scientific paper can be read here (not open access unfortunately).
